Date Night

Whether you have been married for 20 years or dating for 3, date nights are something that I believe most couples should do. It gives you time to reconnect and catch up after a long week of work or school or both. Date nights for my boyfriend and I, forces us to get out of the house instead of just sitting at home watching New Girl re-runs on the couch. Our goal is once a week we get out around Athens and try new things, whether it be in search of our new favorite restaurant or walking through the Botanical Gardens. We try to have a no phone rule if we are out to dinner so that we can just be in the moment and talk about what is going on in our lives (I have been guilty of slipping up to respond to a text or snapchatting my food). But regardless it's important for us to unplug even just for an hour to be present and talk about how our days are going especially with how busy we both are.

With this hot Georgia weather I wanted something comfy but cute! So I chose a velvet purple top (thanks roomie for letting me steal your clothes) paired with black ruffle shorts, grey wedge boots and of course statement jewelry. Had to carry Michael on the date night of course!
